Tarentum museum displays works of Rudy Tutka

The current exhibit at the Allegheny-Kiski History Center and Heritage Museum, 224 E. Seventh Ave., Tarentum, features the works of Rudy Tutka.

Tutka created the covers of the weekly television program directory for the Valley News Dispatch in the 1970s and 80s. Over 100 of his images are on display.

Hours are noon to 3 p.m. Wednesdays and Saturdays. Alternate times for groups are available by appointment. For details, call 724-224-7666.

Vandergrift museum to host Christmas Tree Lane fundraiser

Victorian Vandergrift Museum and Historical Society will sponsor a Christmas Tree Lane event Nov. 17 through Dec. 16 at the museum, 184 Sherman Ave., Vandergrift.

Individuals and organizations are needed to decorate artificial trees. No lights please. Museum visitors will vote for their favorite tree and the tree with the most votes will receive a plaque.

Registration deadline is Oct. 15. Trees can be any size and must be set up between Nov. 10 and 15. For details and to register, call or text Diana at 724-525-3334.

Tuesday : Vandergrift Public Library and Tiny Trax Farm will host a free Goat Storytime from 6 to 8 p.m. at the farm, 151 Stitt Ave. Wear old clothes and shoes. Space is limited and reservations are required. Reservations: 724-568-2212.
